Biography

Tangie Newborn is the President of Immense Business Solutions, a full-service management and consulting firm that provides services to nonprofit organizations and small/mid-size for-profit companies – specializing in association management, diversity and inclusion training, evaluating and implementing business strategies to reach potential and strategic growth. Immense Business Solutions is a unique leader in the field of business development solutions for nonprofits and for-profits – using customized approaches for each client – starting with an evaluation process to determine the strategies and solutions needed to provide maximum return for today's businesses to remain competitive.

A global thinker, Tangie brings vision and leadership, by setting short and long-term goals that will grow one’s mission and vision; and, she quickly distinguishes herself as a straight-talker with a healthy balance of optimism and realism. Tangie is known for her strategic focus, which has been used to increase companies’ bottom-line. Her sense of humor and metaphoric stories will capture any audience as they move through various processes and tough decisions.

With over 25 years of association and nonprofit management experience, Tangie is also an executive coach, author and magazine editor; and, her background includes a blend of experience in executive management, organizational training, and professional/educational development for conferences and year-round programming. She has successfully led organizations and companies with continuous results in membership/customer growth, coalition building, advocacy, and financial turn-around.

In addition to serving as a consultant, Tangie Newborn is the founder and president of Full Circle for Women, a Northern Virginia nonprofit organization serving disadvantage women who are seeking self-sufficiency by transitioning into the workforce or those looking for opportunities to transform into viable careers. Prior to Full Circle, Tangie served as Executive Director and CEO for two years of the Alliance for Nonprofit Management and Executive Director for six years of the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ). In addition, she served as Deputy Executive Director of the American Medical Women’s Association (AMWA) and Field Director for Girl Scouts of the Nation’s Capital.

She is a long time member of American Society of Association Executives, where she is past chair of its Diversity Committee (2007-2008); an appointed member of the ASAE’s CEO Advisory Board; appointed member of its Executive Management Section Council; and, a faculty member of the ASAE Center U.

She is a talented and most sought-after speaker and has been featured in numerous publications such as Nonprofit World Magazine, Executive Update, Associations Now, Chronicle of Philanthropy, Nonprofit Times, and the Wall Street Journal. Tangie has written several articles on diversity, association/nonprofit management and is co-author of the book Membership Operations, a core competencies management series with the American Society of Association Executives.
